Specializing in the research and development of plants designed for adverse conditions and solutions for real purposes.
Recent innovative technology aimed at whole plant genetic adaptation and the subsequent development of efficient, large scale, mass propagation systems suitable for the forestry industry, has revealed many new avenues for practical solutions to a number of emerging environmental concerns.
Our technology provides the capability to produce vast quantities of identical plants, cheaply and efficiently, all purposely adapted for adverse environments, integrating disciplines derived from biotechnology, hydroponics and traditional nursery settings. Whole plant genetic adaptation utilizes no forms of genetic engineering, instead relies upon a plants ability to evolve via genetic adaptation / amplification, when the correct stimulus / environment is forced.
ETF’s technology is of extreme importance to any ecological region influenced by the activities of mining sites, where plant growth and yield can be somewhat limited by excessive soil and water contaminants. Plants purposely adapted to such conditions can be used to remove these contaminants whilst still providing optimum growth and yield. The beneficial effects are innumerable, not just for prevailing ecosystems, but for the creation of local employment amongst indigenous peoples and appeasing the green movement.
Should you be interested in utilizing our technology for purposeful solutions, I would be pleased to discuss the matter further.
INTRODUCTION.
In
2000, Australia had 151 registered biotech research companies. Of these only
ETF is working with whole plants, as opposed to cell lines and manipulation.
Our approach is unique, cutting edge technology aimed at laboratory research with practical solutions for real problems.
Rising salinity is a major issue for today’s agricultural sector with thousands of hectares of land already rendered useless.
Unless a permanent solution can be found today’s quick fix options will succeed only in passing the problem to the next generation.
Research involves development of mass propagation systems and plant manipulation. Invitro propagation continues in the academic world increasingly directed at gene transfer and manipulation for crop improvement. Unfortunately the technology and practices for mass propagation to fully exploit these improvements hasn’t kept pace, a new system is needed. ETF can deliver that system.
ETF HAS THE ANSWERS.
ETF will use state of the art biotechnology processes to produce quality plantation timber with salt tolerance which will rival the hardness of our Eucalyptus, while still providing high yields and timber quality.
OTHER POSSIBLE USES FOR TREES: ie: HEAVY METALS EFFLUENT, ETC.
ETF can produce these trees, at an accelerated growth rate of up to 33% .
Consequentially a plantation which may take 15 years to produce a viable income, could be dropped to as little as 10 years.
ECONOMICAL REWARDS TO THE RURAL SECTOR AND FORESTRY INDUSTRY WOULD BE ENORMOUS.
The applications associated with the technology being developed by ETF have far reaching implications for…
Over
the last two thousand years and before time was counted, humans have been
fascinated by the infinite worth plants seem to potentiate. Gradually collective
knowledge has seen the skills of plant propagation and breeding develop rapidly
to keep pace with societal needs. Conventional techniques seem inadequate
in providing Australia’s future requirements.
Salinity has the potential to affect all agricultural land under irrigation. At ETF our purpose built trees have the potential to alleviate a country under stress.
Basically, forestry trees have been developed upon the almost in discernable evolution of nature for any enhanced change. In that somewhat static growing environment, the pace of the world demand for forest wood resources continues to intensify almost unchecked.
FORESTRY TREES UNTAPPED RESOURCE.
They are often of great commercial interest, and they should play a key role in managing future atmosphere levels of CO2.
More important: they have genetic systems that are still in the wild state, unlike many commercial crop plants that are highly domesticated.
